Channel Manager – North America | Engineered Products

Location: Houston, Texas – Home Based with Flexibility to Work from Head Office

Base Salary: $130,000 – $160,000 + 20% Bonus + Car + 401(k) + Benefits Package

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced technical sales professional with a strong mechanical engineering background and a proven track record of growing sales through distributors and channel partners?

GMA Technical are working with a global engineering business that is investing heavily in the growth of its North American market. As part of this exciting expansion, we are looking for a Channel Manager – North America to take ownership of developing and expanding the company’s channel network across the region.

This is an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial, commercially driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and creating sustainable growth through channel partners.

The business is firmly in growth mode, with significant investment behind the North American operation. As a result, there is considerable scope for the successful individual to develop their career and take on broader responsibilities as the business continues to expand.

The Role

As Channel Manager – North America, you will be responsible for developing the existing distributor and channel network while identifying, recruiting and developing new channel partners across the region.

You will work closely with customers, distributors, internal technical teams and senior leadership to develop market opportunities and increase the company’s presence across key sectors including:

  • Oil & Gas
  • Power Generation
  • Industrial Applications
  • Engineered Products
  • Mechanical Engineering

This is a highly customer-responsive business where you will have the freedom to operate in an entrepreneurial and innovative environment, with the autonomy to identify opportunities and build the strategy required to deliver them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a North American channel strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Manage, develop and grow relationships with existing distributors and channel partners.
  • Identify, qualify and recruit new channel partners across North America.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with distributor owners, senior management and sales teams.
  • Develop partner capabilities through training, product knowledge, technical support and commercial coaching.
  • Identify gaps within the existing channel network and develop plans to address market coverage.
  • Increase sales revenue, market share and profitability through the channel.
  • Develop joint business plans and sales strategies with key channel partners.
  • Identify new markets, applications and customer opportunities for the company’s engineered products.
  • Support distributors with key customer opportunities, tenders and technically complex projects.
  • Work closely with engineering and technical teams to provide appropriate solutions to customer requirements.
  • Monitor channel performance against agreed targets and implement corrective action where required.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and provide regular market and competitor intelligence.
  • Attend customer and distributor meetings, trade shows, industry events and technical seminars.
  • Develop relationships with end users and key accounts while ensuring opportunities are effectively managed through the channel.
  • Support pricing, commercial negotiations and contract discussions where appropriate.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitors and emerging opportunities across North America.
  • Travel regularly throughout North America to support partners and develop new business.

About You

We are particularly interested in speaking with technical and engineering sales specialists who have successfully sold engineered products through distributors, resellers or channel partners.

  • A mechanical engineering or similarly relevant technical background.
  • Proven experience in B2B technical sales within an engineered product environment.
  • A successful track record of developing sales through distributors/channel partners.
  • Experience working within Oil & Gas, Power, Industrial or related engineering markets.
  • Strong commercial and business development capability.
  • Experience of recruiting, onboarding and developing channel partners.
  • The ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into commercial solutions.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • A highly proactive, entrepreneurial and self-motivated approach.
  • The ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout North America.
  • A genuine ambition to build a long-term career within a growing global organisation.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is serious about being successful. Someone who wants to take ownership, build something substantial and grow with the organisation rather than simply move into another sales position.

What’s On Offer?

  • $130,000 – $160,000 base salary
  • 20% annual bonus
  • Company car
  • 401(k)
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Home-based role with flexibility to work from the Houston head office
  • Regular travel across North America
  • Significant autonomy and ownership of the territory
  • Opportunity to join a global business investing heavily in North American growth
  • Excellent long-term career progression opportunities

Why Join?

This is more than a traditional Channel Manager position.

You will be joining a business with ambitious growth plans, significant investment and a genuine entrepreneurial culture. Your success will directly contribute to the expansion of the North American operation, and with that comes the opportunity to develop into broader commercial and leadership roles as the organisation grows.

If you are a technically strong, commercially driven channel sales professional looking for your next long-term career move, we’d like to hear from you.
